Privacy Policy

SpareDisk analyzes files on your Mac. It has no account, collects no analytics, and uploads nothing. Effective 12 September 2026.

What SpareDisk reads

For the folders you add, SpareDisk reads file names, sizes, dates, ownership and file-system identifiers. It does not read file contents to build the map or the lists.

Two features read contents on your explicit request: Find Duplicates reads files to hash and compare them, and Find related data reads an application's Info.plist to learn its bundle identifier. Quick Look shows a file through the system preview when you ask.

What it stores

• Security-scoped bookmarks for the folders you add, so access survives relaunch.
• The last two completed scans per location: names, paths, sizes and dates, never contents.
• Preferences: appearance, view mode, sort, size basis, inspector visibility, filter presets.

All of it lives in the app's sandbox container. Forget Location removes a folder's bookmark and saved scans. Deleting the app removes everything.

Network

SpareDisk makes no network connections. There is no crash reporting, no usage analytics and no license check. Moving items to the Trash and revealing them in Finder happen locally through macOS.

App Store

Purchases and updates are handled by Apple through the Mac App Store under Apple's privacy policy. SpareDisk receives no personal information from that process.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. Questions: support@minilabs.cc.
